Small Talk

Sharath Raju:
We would like to know about your RPA journey?
Pranshur Dubey:
If you ask me about my RPA journey, it has just started. I only knew about what RPA is but never worked on it. One day I got a mail on the internal portal of Tech Mahindra that we are conducting a hackathon on RPA, collaborating with UiPath. I always wanted to attend an event like this but never got chance to do, so I asked to of my colleague to participate with me in this. We thought for a while, registered and rest you know what happened.

Currently I am working with the Automation team to create awareness about RPA in various accounts. Also fortunately, we were able to conduct a Hackathon for TechM associates on RPA a few days back, that’s where the experience came handy.

Processing…
Success! You're on the list.

Sharath Raju:
What was your project about in the hackathon?
Pranshur Dubey:
Every day around thousands of website domains expire, thus evaluating them through analytics and predicting a basic value for those and then created a web application through which we can showcase their value to sell them.

Sharath Raju:
What would be your advice for someone who is planning to participate in future hackathons?
Pranshur Dubey:
Think for some use cases which could actually create an impact on the traditional processes or the industry. Work on it, create a flowchart how to move forward and think for business aspects along with technicalities. I got lucky as I knew C# and UiPath is somewhat based on VB & C# so my knowledge came as a factor.

Also a good team helps in maintaining calm throughout the hackathon. We were a good team who helped ourselves in all aspects from research to coding to prepare a framework.

Sharath Raju:
What is the biggest mistake that we end up doing while adopting RPA?
Pranshur Dubey:
I believe the biggest mistake is that we think we can adopt RPA in each and everything, even if it is not necessary. Before adopting RPA, we must think it will act as a Boon or Bane.

There must be some things that requires human intervention and it should be done by human only.

Sharath Raju:
We would like to hear about the future of RPA from you…
Pranshur Dubey:
Well, RPA surely has a great future coming up. It is helping humans doing the tasks which we just thought of doing. In upcoming times, the impact of RPA will become broader. Within organizations, it will be used in more ways and across more processes than it is today.

RPA works well on its own, but in the near future, its best practice will likely see RPA become integrated with the work performed by human employees, creating a more powerful “total workforce“.
